This is our first post to our new sight. This is exciting for us because it is a way for us to communicate to those we know and those who visit, what is happening in our lives. But where do we start? I guess a good place to start is to simply give a little info about us...There are four of us in the Isaak clan: Michael, Shelly, Gabriel and Christopher. Shelly and I have been married for 13 years and feel like we are still newlyweds! The boys are the best! They are good examples of followers of Christ...not perfect and prone to mistakes like all of us are...but they are sooooo good! They love sports and are great with other friends and kids.
As a family, we have been active in the lives of young people for 12 of the past 14 years. We have served as youth pastors in a couple churches in Southern California and at one church in Washington State. Loving young people has always been a passion of ours...we find that when they know that they are simply loved for who they are and where they are, they will open up their lives to give and receive the love they long for.
I would love to be able to say that serving in ministry as pastors is always peachy...but the fact is that, even in the church, people are not perfect and don't always treat each other well. With that said, I will say with absolute certainty that we have found in the midst of the pain, struggles, and question, that God is extremely loving, kind and good...and truly never leaves us alone!
Well, here is the end of the first post...Shelly or myself will write frequently...some of the things will be personal; some of the posts will be funny and some sad; some will let you know what is happening in our lives as we walk with God...but in all of the posts that we write, we hope to be sincere and transparent. Life is a JOURNEY...you are more than welcome to read about ours and maybe somehow, someway feel a part of the Isaak family.
